About Me
I am an aspiring public relations professional with experience in journalism. I hold a bachelor of science in Communication Studies with an emphasis in Public Relations from Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
I was a staff reporter and photojournalist for my school's newspaper, the Daily Egyptian. While there, I wrote on a range of topics from the Black community to campus culture to environmental racism. For around two years, I was the Seasonal PR Team lead for the non-profit Digital4Good. While there, I developed my leadership skills, assigning projects to interns, promoting events to schools, and creating innovative social media strategies.
In 2022, I became a McNair's Scholar at SIUC. During the summer of 2024, I participated in the McNair's Summer Research Institute. During this time, I conducted a qualitative research study, exploring the impacts of generative AI on PR curriculum. To collect this data, I conducted extensive interviews of local professors. I also conducted a survey of my fellow students to get a sense for their use of AI in their studies.

I am also a media-related professional member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
